Bought it from xoticpc. I used the laptop without any issues with the keyboard. I then connected it to an external monitor and using my own wired keyboard. Thus using a usb port and connect my wired keyboard to it. I then disconnected my keyboard and monitor so i could use laptop by itself.

Right now most of the keys on the right side of keyboard doesn't work. J, k, l, u, i , o, p, n, m doesn't work. Enter button works however.

Does anyone know what this is happening?

So the letter i right now when i press it... its like the left click mouse pad clicking button. U, o, p, j, k, l, m doesn't work. The other keys however like enter, backspace works.

Why would the letter i function as a mousepad button left click?

Okay i found out the reason. I have the numbers lock key on... on my external keyboard. Once i turned it off, then there was no issue with it.

However there is something very strange here. Example even if i leave the number lock on and then take the keyboard out of my laptop... none of those buttons i mention work. And of course the BUTTON i when i click on it acts as a left click mousepad. Can someone explain why this is the case? Thus the only way to fix this issue is i have to turn off the number lock on my external keyboard, then pull keyboard out of my laptop. Then it would work.

Another thing that i dont get is this. When i have the number lock on or off when its connected to the monitor... the keypad with the numbers never work. I have to use the numbers on top of the letters. Is there a reason for this?

Also has anyone heard of this before? Also every time i turn on or turn off the number lock on the external keyboard while connected to sager laptop, theres a beep sound that shows on and o

Okay so i found out that i had mouse keys turned on... and i had to turn it off to get my keypad on my external keyboard to work. First off, what is this as i never had anything like that with my asus laptop. What kind of option is this?

Also when i have the external keyboard work fully by putting NO for mousekeys... then the right side of my laptop keyboard such as letters O, P types the keybad numbers such as 5 and 6. Is this normal?

I never seen something like this other laptops.

Looks like you solved your own problem :). If it helps any, I've done this before too on my NP7338. One of the bummers of not having a dedicated number pad I guess.

Is this a fresh install of your OS, or has it been working "properly" before? Also, what kind of keyboard are we talking about. Some keyboards, like Razer, have their own proprietary keyboard software to customize stuff. Is it possible that one of these programs is messing with the keyboard layout?

Xotic pc had everything installed for me. I didn't do a clean install on this new sager laptop.

Keyboard is a wired keyboard. Its the keyboard i got when i ordered a dell xps 8100 many years ago. This is a pretty standard keyboard, nothing special but it works great for me which is why i like the keyboard.
