Try hitting Fn + F10 on your keyboard. Should have a picture of a webcam on the F10 key. If it is off, then it might not show in the device manager. But that function key combo should turn it on or off.

I have dell keyboard. Is FN the windows key? Thus the one where you click on it, it shows the options when clicking on the bottom left?

If so, it doesn't do anything...

Normally it would not be the Windows key, but actually it's own key on the bottom row. The windows key can be used in combination with other buttons in various programs, but it wouldn't be the one you are looking for. Normally it would just have a Fn, or Function on it somewhere. Not sure exactly what keyboard you might be using though.

okay i tried it with the sager laptop... doesn't work at all. Previously i had connected the laptop to an external monitor and used the external keyboard.

Does this mean my webcam is no good?

So just to clarify: You used FN and F10 on the integrated keyboard, not the external keyboard, right? And no change?

Which version of Windows are you running?

windows 7. I used just my laptop. I disconnected the usb from monitor to laptop and also the external keyboard.

Skype doesn't show any webcam at all.

Try downloading the driver for the integrated webcam.

    http://www.sagernotebook.com/drivers.php?cat=579

Do any of those Fn + F keys work for you? If none of them are working, then maybe reinstall Hotkey to see if that gets them working as well.

Yes, that's a good point. Start with the webcam driver if you haven't tried reinstalling it already. When the driver is installed and the webcam is enabled via Fn + F10, you should see the webcam show up under Imaging Devices within Device Manager (if the Imaging Devices category is not present at all, it could mean the driver is installed but the camera is disabled).

Also the (Clevo) Control Center has the ability to turn on/off the webcam and touchpad.

Is it showing in the device manager at all, or any other programs? Or is the issue only on Skype?

Someone in another forum said this

If you do not see it in your device manger it most liekly loose inside (unplugged) or damaged. Here is an area with all the manuals for taking it apart ect. W740SU That is the same laptop. It does not look like in the bios you can turn off the camera so it must one of the two issues above.

    Thoughts on that?

Thought one, not seeing it in device manager = loose inside is false. I know. I turned mine off with the the Fn + F? (not on mine now, P770ZM) combo, and it disappeared from device manager.
There isn't a camera icon in Control Center? What Power Plan are you in? Looking at the User Manual, EUM.zip, in the link you provided, shows that the Power Plan chosen will also turn on/off the camera. Table B-1 - Power Modes.

Look in the tray area. It is part of the hotkey app. So, you might have to look in program files if there aren't icons in the system tray.

Edit: High Performance should work with the camera. Once you find Control Center, be certain that the High Performance is chosen there too.

Download Hotkey and install it if it's not there.. You looked in x86 program files too?
Also try Fn + ESC. I read that toggles Control Center on and off.

Go to Sager's website, under support, choose Drivers & Manuals, then put your model in the search field to find the Hot Key Utility for your OS.

What does it say? Does it give an error? Saying it doesn't install doesn't help without giving us error codes, error messages, etc so we can help you.
