Simply, whenever I decide to sleep or hibernate my laptop it either BSOD's or the screen turns black for an extended period of time and then I have to hard reset it. And this is a persistent and irritating problem. I have already tried a couple of hot fixes to no avail.

sometimes changing the hybrid sleep option can fix this. If you have it enabled now disable it or vise versa.

Oddly enough, it started working without any change to the Hybrid Sleep Option (which is currently off).
