So I just received my HP dv6tqe, which overall so far is not so bad. However, I just wonder how the 1920x1080 screens are and possibly consider returning the HP after a couple weeks use IF and ONLY IF the Sager proves to be worth the extra bucks and doesn't have huge issues.

So is there a big difference between the 1920x1080 vs the same with 95% gamut? It's an extra 50 bucks at XoticPC.

What are the major issues that affect either NP5160 or 5165? I have read multiple posts about heat issues. Anything else?

And how is the GT555M 2GB DDR3 vs the AMD 6770M 1GB GDDR5? Is the GPU in the Sager/Clevo gimped? Didn't see any posts on the actual FPS for different FPSs?

And does anyone besides Sager repackage Clevos?

For the laptop you're looking for, the Pollux 1455 by Mythlogic is an equivalent model.

Do you have the 1920x1080 on the dv6tqe? The HP reps were claiming that it's also 95% gamut, but nobody here has one yet so we don't know if that's the case.

The 555M in the NP5165 is crippled with a 128-bit DDR3 memory bus. It is comparable to the 6770M when memory bandwidth is not important, but if you game at 1920x1080 and want some of the bells and whistles (e.g. AA), the lack of bandwidth will generally result in a fairly massive performance hit.

From a purely hardware perspective, the HP is the better all-around machine, especially since the dv6 is now shipping with a 1920x1080 screen. From a sales and support view, I'm glad I chose the Clevo W150HRQ (the shell Sager uses for the 5165) from MYTHLOGIC. I originally had an order placed for the dv6tqe but delays and horrific experiences with HP's support led me to bail on it. I even had to dispute the charge with my credit card company because HP never refunded me despite their promise to do so.

While it cost quite a bit more than the HP, MYTHLOGIC has treated me like royalty throughout the sales process. They respond to all e-mails promptly and professionally. I feel that they will do a far better job standing behind their product than HP, and that's worth something.

Anybody play some games on the 555M? I wonder with similar settings including the bell and whistles, how the framerates are for the intense popular games?
