Sager NP5760 Nivida Geforce Go 7900 GTX 512mb
    Intel Centrino 2.0ghz
    2gb RAM

I have had the computer for about 3 years but have had many problems with it and had it sent off to be returned once because it would not even boot up. Supposedly they replaced the motherboard and ran some tests on it. Now I have recently bought a new computer, but would still like to know if it would be worth trying to fix my Sager NP5760.
The graphics card Nividia Go 7900 GTX seems to be shot the computer is constantly very hot near the front and I have to run the fan on high almost always. There are visible pixel spots all over the screen which change position from the graphics card being shot and I have had some weird problems with strange characters showing up in places where they should not be. I reformatted the hard drive for my dad to use the computer, but now after a little while of use the computer screen begins to flash on and off. The screen freezes and flashes on and off so you can only turn it off. Seems the video card is shot and overheating.
I was just wondering if most of the problem is probably because of the video card and how hard or costly would it be to fix or is it even worth fixing thanks for any info.

sounds like the videocard is causing artifacts.... from overheating.

when was the last time you clean out the fans and vents with compressed air?

.... if never, then that could be the reason for that.

also, do you ever monitor the temps of the videocard, if it goes past 90C, then that is definitely a red flag for GPU overheating.

Yes I do clean the vents reguarly and have kept them clean. No I havent run a temp check on the GPU but I will try to do that when I can next. Yeah I really thing its the GPU over heating though. How hard would it be to replace and is it possible to get the same card still at cheaper price or would another card work.
