Here is some late breaking info I wanted to pass along on the NP5790
Sager NP5790 (M570RU) will have 2 color ID options on the frame trim color. Orange and White. Currently the Orange is finalized and will be shipped first around Early July. The White trim version is currently set to be shipping mid August. Sager has planned to carry both color trims as soon as the 2nd version is ready and available.
nVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT w/512MB, Clevo is working at their hardest to make this option available on both Sager NP5790 (M570RU) and NP9260 (D901C). Currently ETA is early august. Pricing is not yet determined
Intel TurboMemory (Robson Technology) is not available on the NP5790 (M570RU).
As stated in other threads on the forum, the NP5790 will be live tonight at 6PM PST![]()

A white NP5790 w/ 8700M GT is drool-worthy!
Are there any pics of the white model yet? -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Sorry no pics of the White 5790 yet, but we will have them soon
I really like the Orange but White is also a very nice addition
-
Actually, here is a quick pic, gives you the idea: http://www.rockdirect.com/viewNotebook.php?pName=XTREME%20770
Looks so sexy. . . -
NICE! thx for the update justin.
-
i like the orange version more, it makes it look like a HAlf-LIfe 2 laptop
-
-
About the turbo memory questions- I've read that Sony and HP aren't including the turbo memory in the Centrino Pro laptops either. HP did testing and found no significant performance increases with turbo memory over Speedboast and readboost Flash drives or flash memory used with Vista so they aren't including it on their new laptops.

Hi.
Another question about Robson on the RU.
Is it possible to install a Robson module later since its miniPCI, for example instead of the internal tv tuner or are all the miniPCI slots occupied by wlan/bluetooth etc...
I'm still hopeing Robson will be usefull after the first vista servicepack
Thanks -
Here ya go, the
Clevo M570RU - White Trim
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
The 570RU will not accept Intel Robson Turbo Memory.
Nice find on the pics Gophn & xtyfyb -
I actually like this metallic white trim more than the orange... less showy by very sleek.
-
Are the different trims like when Clevo just changes the last number of their model? Like, is one the M570RU and the other the M575RU?
I bet we'll see more colors from other retailers. But I bet they'll be expensive as well. A blue trim would match most peripherals out there, i.e. mice, headsets, etc, but a green one would match an Xbox 360 Elite! -
the last digit in the Clevo models usually denotes a cosmetic difference...like color.
-
Like the trim color as I speculated!
I want a blue one... -
Are there any benchmarks for the nvidia 8700?
-
-
I am debating if I should just get an 8700 with it or a 7950 GTX and upgrade to an 8800 later.
-
By 6 Pm .
Will yal know what Early july means ?
And will the White and orange be diferent only in colors or the white will have newer technology, better lcd/cam or any extras ?
Lets say 570ru is upgradable to 8M later ...
If i order a 570ru with a 7950GTX how do i upgrade it later, i need to send the pc to you so i wont mess my warranty, or i will order a GPU from you ?
Or im gonna have to find someone selling one and put it my self messing my warranty . -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
The difference between the colors is only going to be cosmetic. No internal difference.
I am sorry I cant speculate on how a possible upgrade will work. It could be something to the nature of just adding the card or the system may need a modification. We will know more once the card is released -
Does the white trim include the ''checkered'' design like the orange does? Its not the trim, the stuff around the media buttons, and touchpad, and the outline of keyboard?
-
Hmm, white is sleeker, but orange is definitely more distinctive. Either way it looks good, and (thankfully) a large improvement over the previous generation M570.
-
Eh. I thought the previous gen m570u was incredibly elegant - probably the most stylish 17" around.
And I just noticed the "PST" part after 6:00 PM... ><
Justin, you're so living on the wrong side of the continent! -
I know you can buy notebook upgrades from Eurocom. Anyoen have any experience with this?
-
you can pretty much get upgrades from most of the Clevo resellers/vendors.
you just need to contact them and ask for pricing & turnaround times. -
I love these little notebook resellers. Their so chillax. All sorts of "price matching" and "custom requests"
Get this. I asked RJTech if the C90S supported 800MHz RAM. He said it did, but would run it at 667MHz, and even offered me adding the 800MHz RAM as a custom option! -
Are we there yet?
-
1/2 hour! Just stay calm.

The Sager NP5790 (Clevo M570RU) is now available for Pre-Order. As a Special Promotion the 5790-S will have $100 off its price for all Pre-Orders. (The $100 off is already calculated into the price) XoticPC is also providing a FREE USB 1GB Flash Drive for ALL Pre-Orders of the Sager NP5790. The ETA of the 5790 is going to be on or before Mid July.
We are also going to offer Sagers version of the Compal IFL90 ( Sager NP2090) which will start shipping next week in limited supplies. Sagers version will have the 512MB 8600GT for both WXGA and WSXGA models. -
HOORAH! Finally! Wha... but... no 8700M GT?
Edit: I like that you can get 8600M GT with WXGA. Not the best chip for high-res.
Tell me, would a WXGA screen look better at 1280x800 than a WSXGA screen? I would probably game at that res with that chip anyway. Like, does having all those pixels hurt at lower resolutions? -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Sorry, not at this time
-
whoa! it's very expensive when you customize it to the g1s and ifl90 levels, and i'm sure the price will go up when the 87000gt arrives.
-
Okay, this is what confused me before. The Compal IFL90 and the Sager IFL90 are, indeed, two different products on your site. Still intrested in my native resolution question.
I love how everyone is scurrying to buy these, and not posting anything here. -
Why is it cheaper than the old version? (5760?)
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
We will have more versions available of the Compal IFL90 on our non Sager version. (i.e. we will have CBB and the regular channel versions) The channel versions of both will be the same, it is the CBB version that will be different. The WSXGA regular IFL90 is the channel version. Sager is providing the regular channel version for both the WXGA and WSXGA model. The main benefit of buying the regular Compal IFL90 is you get a 3 Year Warranty.
What questions did you have about native resolutions?
[Edit: The reason it is more is because of the warranty provided on the regular Compal IFL90] -
When the 8700GT's are put into the Clevo m570ru, how much will it cost to upgrade? Or you cannot tell us this info.
Or do you not know?
@ Powernotebooks.com 1920 x 11200 resolutionmight want to fix that.
This system is priced just perfectly, I just wanna know how much for the 8700 GT. -
Nice, I'm set on buying one of these now. Now, I just got to decide whether to buy it now with the 7950 GTX or try waiting for the 8700 and lose the $100 discount...
-
-
Is there a modular bay in the 570ru? Doesn't look like it

Sweet machine, thanks for the update. I like the orange and the carbon fiber trim around the keyboard. Is that real carbon fiber or just a carbon fiber look? Either way it looks nice.
Justin I bet you had this all typed up and were counting the seconds until 6:00 PM to hit that submit button. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Thanks Chaz, Your right about having it ready at 6 sharp
It is supposed to be a carbon fiber pattern in the trim.
jbizzler I think the 1280x800 resolution looks better on the WXGA then WSXGA. -

As for the 8700 please see http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=2052173&postcount=37 -

Ok, I merged two of the threads together so that way we have just a few threads on the M570RU/Sager NP5790 topic running around.
-
Nice merge. Justin, thanks for the info.
Is the one from RockDirect.com a preorder, or are they really already shipping the M570RU with white trim AND with 8700M GT? I can't see any hint otherwise on their website.
The M570RU is quite a bit cheaper than I expected, and the NP2090 is REAL cheap. I might get it for 3 reasons. It's cheap, It actually gets a chance to use its battery, and if I'm ever in dire need, it'll actually work on my lap!
I hope the Clevo page updates with more M570RU details. I want to read the manual! -
Justin, is there going to be a barebones version of this?
I like how the 5790 is cheaper than the 5760And I do agree about the NP2090; its a lot cheaper than the Compal version.
-
The barebones for the M570RU will not be available through Sager.. from experience.
You have to get it from another reseller like RJtech or ISTNC. -
Oh yea, thats what I meant
And then I realized that XoticPC doesn't carry any Clevo barebones.
-
Another vote for the white trim here.
-
Got to say I prefer the white trim as well.
