I was just wondering if you guys would recommend the drivers from the URL provided above or the default drivers that come with the CD. Also...is the 7950gtx go by a different name? I can't seem to find it in the link above...the closest thing I found was the 7950 GX and 7950 GX2.

    thanks!

Well you won't find mobile GPU's in the original inf, that's why you have to use the modded inf. But if all games run well I wouldn't recommend on changing from official to 3rd party drivers. Most times the driver will work fine, but I always found a game that produced glichtes or crashes with the 3rd party drivers. That's why, at least last time I checked, even the programmer of the 3rd party driver advise against using them if there is no problem with your official ones.

Well, I guess I wont make a new thread then but I just got my NP5790 and performance is awful in all games, I cant get a decent FPS in anything and I had to cancel the 3dMARK06 Benchmark test because I was literally getting 0 FPS in the CPU test. and about 6 or 7 FPS in the GPU tests.

Edit: Now I'm thinking its a CPU problem that's causing a bottleneck because last night I installed Company of Heroes and it took an awfully long time to install and then running the performance test in the game with recommended settings I was still getting bad frame rates.

Is there anything I can do? Or am I stuck sending this thing back already

that doesn't seem very good...is it because of the drivers?

Alright a fresh install of the Graphic Drivers that came on the disc seemed to do the trick. Ill post here if I run into any more problems.

TweakRU's ExtremeG Mobile force drivers built off of 94.20s has been a excellent driver for me. I would recommend them fully. Just remember to install them right by first removing them in the control panel and then booting in safe mode and either manually deleting the registry entrys and left over .dll files or you can use a driver cleaner pro. Then reboot and install the mobile force ones.
