First off, let me say that this forum has helped me so much since I bought my first Sager notebook, and since I have a question that I couldn't get answered anywhere else, I finally decided to ask here.

I bought a Sager NP5790 last August from pctorque with the optional Tv tuner. The tuner is a "Yuan MPC788" card with an IR transceiver. (This is not the MCE version of the tv tuner). Recently, I lost the remote. I have been searching for weeks to find a replacement, but all I can find is the Media Center Edition Express Slot remote. It seems that Sager does not sell replacement remotes for the internal IrDA port.

I've been doing my research, and I know that I can't use a standard universal remote with the IrDa port on my laptop, but I was wondering if anyone knew any other remote that would work with my laptops internal IrDA port (or even if someone knew how to obtain a replacement)

Let me say again that the remote was not an Express card remote, it was completely standalone.

    Thanks for all your help!!

For small items like that, I would contact:
    - www.eurocom.com (call or email is best)

Another thing that is available to you (just in case if you cannot find the remote or its not worth the replacement), is to purchase another TV Tuner w/ remote. They are standard and quite inexpensive nowadays.

... it could be the same one you already have in there (so you can just use the remote, hang onto an extra TV tuner module, or just sell it)... or get a MCE compatible tuner w/ new remote. :)
