    Hey guys,

Just received my new Sager NP5791 and have some issues hoping some knowledgeable folks out there might help.

The notebook keeps shutting down after a few minutes whenever I turn it on. Ive tried G. Skill (2X1 GB 667 mhz) and Corsair (2X1 Gb 667 mhz) brand memories and it does the same thing. Anyone kno if this model is extremely picky with memory brand? I called Sager and they told me they use Transcend and Apacer only, but I dont kno if its just the memory, could it be something else?

    Much help appreciated guys.

    that sounds strange.

did you just try one stick of memory (in the first slot)?

And which Windows are you using, was it pre-installed?

Does it shut down and stay off? Or does it just restart. You may try disabling auto restart on failure just in case you are getting a bluescreen. You access that from the 'System Properties' Dialog. Just click on the 'Advanced' tab and click on the 'Settings' button under 'Startup and Recovery'. Uncheck the 'Automatically Restart' option. It will not fix the problem, but if you can get an error to appear, it could tell you a little more about what is happening.

Hey i fixed the problem thanks alot for the replies tho but it was a problem way out of my reach anyways. It seems that the heatsink for the cpu was defective and the computer would shut down due to extreme heat. That was Sager's bad.
