    Hi,

I have been waiting for a real long time to purchase this notebook... since august 2007...

I have put it on hold until this notebook can be configured with the
    Quadro FX1600M video card.

It was supposed to come in September, then october.... now I dont know the status.

I am not too computer savvy but I know the Quadro card will be better suited for my needs (Zero Gaming and Primarly for Autocad, Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino, Max) or am I wrong?.....

Does anyone have an idea when this option will be available?

OR... does anyone have an another recommedation on a notebook for my purposes (budget upto $3000, Programs as stated above, speed and processing power, available in Canada)

    Thanks,

    B

i think that quadro fx1600m is just an 8700 gt, which has been available for some time. can anyone confirm that?

Yes, it's the same card as in HPs, Dells and such.

It might be *based* on the 8700GT, but the Quadro line has very important hardware features suited for CAD and 3D designers.

Eurocom (canadian clevo reseller) used to have the FX1600M listed under their 570RU configuration, but they seem to have removed it. I'd send their sales team an e-mail.

the fx 1600 is based on the 8700 core, but it is optomized for 3d cad work with OPENGL optomizations.

    I have a Quadro fx2500 aka 7900gtx.

    it's my backup card.
