Which screen should i go with?

17" WSXGA+ "Matte" Super Clear Ultra Bright Screen (1680x1050)

17" WUXGA "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen (1920x1200) ( + 145 )

I really like a very bright / super clear LCD

The LCD is the main importance for my laptop choice.

How is the screen quality on the Sager NP5792 / NP5793

    ???

    dont double post please.

the bottom line is Sager, like most every other OEM (HP, Dell, etc..) uses the same LCD panels.

For the high resolution screens (1680x1050 and up), they all use LG panels.

I just got mine and it's pretty stunning--much better than my older Dell.

Image is clear, LCD is exceptionally bright, and although there is a slight amount of backlight bleed at the bottom, it's pretty minimal and only noticeable on a black screen. Others have said some bad things, but this one is amazing!

Edit: I got the 1920x1200 wuxga.

Can you check which LCD you got by going to hardware tab.

Im curious to see if its an LG or another Model?

Also did you get the 1920 x or the 1680 x?

It doesn't seem to say in Hardware tab (unless I'm in the wrong Hardware tab).

I remember people saying you have to get it from Registry Editor? I forget where to go, though, and couldn't find instructions in the official M57ru thread.

    go to device manager (start/mycomputer(rightclick)/properties/hardware/devicemanager).
    double click monitors.
double click your monitor (probably says plug and play monitor).
    click on details.
click on drop down menu, select hardware ids.

    it will say monitor\something.

Haha wow I was so close--I didn't know about the dropdown menu part :)

Mine is "MONITOR\LPLE400" which I think is the LG. The people in the Dell forum love LG. Guess I got lucky (or high resolutions are all LG panels as Gophn said)!

I own a Sager np5792 and i have to say the screen quality is pretty good, a 9/10. Note: I have seen many different nb screens, dell precision, AW, sony HP, these are clearly one of the best. For pics read the offical NBR review on the NB>
