    FINAL UPDATE: Sager updated the NP9262 driver when they said they did, but they didn't POST it. I have now linked to the correct driver and removed the now extraneous status updates.

    For all users whose LCDs are reporting a nonstandard refresh rate in Vista 64 Bit, please download the latest video driver from Sager's website:

    NP5792/3:
    http://64.208.175.44/ftp/video/01VGA_V64M570RU2.exe

    NP9262:
    http://64.208.175.44/ftp/video/NB8EGTX_D900C2.exe

    Like many have said elsewhere, the 59 Hz issue isn't a big deal, and the workaround doesn't take too much time, but if we can't get EA to take responsibility issue a patch for a simple issue in their Battlefield games, we might as well get a convenient fix from a company that IS willing to work with their customers. :)

    The following paragraph is now irrelevant, but please do let us know if you continue to have refresh issues after updating the driver.

    Downloading now... slowly... and I'll report back BUT...

    The version at Sager's website shows it is the same one as on the CD, am I mistaken?

    167.44 are the last 5 digits there, the default drivers.

    Like I said, I may need to speak to Sager some more about the NP9262. 167.44 was the release that fixed the issue on the NP5792 (they just released it last night), and they wanted anyone with the issue on the NP9262 to try reinstalling the driver to see if it would help. If it doesn't, I'll let them know so we can get a fix on the 9262, too.

    I have re-installed that driver many times on my 9262 and it has always shown as 59 HZ.

    As a side question, why does the 8800 only function in the daughterboard slot?

    @Garandhero:

    Sager JUST released 167.44 for the NP579x series, and this should fix the 59 Hz issue.

    @jdparlin:
    I was afraid of that. I've informed Sager, and I'll let you know once they've got a driver update for the NP9262.

    @jdparlin:

    Give the driver another try. Sager's tech department tells me that they actually updated it yesterday, and it should fix the 59 Hz issue now. If the issue remains, just let me know.

    I tried it. It seems like the same driver to me. I have the 9262 and Vista still reports 59hz.

    XP is fine.

    Aryantes, or anyone else with an NP9262 that is still reporting 59 Hz after downloading the driver linked above, could you take a screenshot of the refresh rate and email it to the address in my signature? Sager's techs must not have any misidentifying screens on hand, so I'd like to show them an example of the issue after the latest driver has been installed.

    For anyone who doesn't know, the Print Screen key will copy your screen to the clipboard.

    These kinds of drivers shouldn't affect the score that much.. which laptop do you have? and what are your scores then/now?

    I have the NP5792. Didn't look at my scores but with 167.43 drivers, I had around 60 frames at the very beginning. With these 167.44 drivers, I was around 30 frames.

    Check your clock speeds, using NTune.

    Some drivers will cause the video card to be locked at a speed much slower than stock.

    I have experienced this on the 9262 and others have experienced it on the 5792. There was a thread around here somewhere.

    Eleison, I emailed you a screenshot of my system showing the 59hz.

    Good News: After running Driver Cleaner and installing these "NEW" drivers (have them version them some way next time!) My 9262 Does indeed show 59 AND 60HZ.

    Bad news: 3DMark06 dropped from 10020 to 5054.

    Just installed the new sager drivers posted 1/24 and they do indeed work.

    My vista 64 install can toggle between 59hz and 60hz now.

    NP :)

    By the way, after installing the new Sager driver ( using driversweeper just to make sure ) and then being able to toggle 59/60 hz.

    I installed the 169.28 drivers from laptopvideo2go.

    I did this because the Sager drivers did not have all of the resolutions I wanted to use, namely 1680x1050 and 1440x900. I know there is a way to edit the INFs or something to add resolutions to drivers but I don't know how to do that.

    After installing the 169.28, I can still toggle between 59/60hz. Then again, I didn't use driversweeper to install the 169.28, so not sure what is overlapped but it is working nicely.

    My 9262 screen shows 59hz in Vista 32 with 167.44 drivers. Are there newer drivers that work in Vista 32 someplace?

    Josh: did you (re)download the 167.44 driver from Sager sometime this week (AFTER Friday, January 25), or did you update as soon as Sager first posted the 167.44 drivers (around January 14)?

    If you downloaded them this week, then contact your reseller's tech support department to check with Sager regarding the issue. If you downloaded them BEFORE this week, use the download link at the beginning of this thread.
