We defragmented the hard drive and did a Windows Update before all testing. We ran the stock Sager Drivers for the 8800M GTX. The LaptopVideo2Go 169.12 and 169.09 would not load on the 5792. All frames per second (FPS) benchmarks were done with FRAPS. The 5792 GPU ran at 46c during normal desktop operation. The stock Core of the 8800M GTX is 500MHz and Memory 799MHz

Cinebench is a rendering benchmark tool based on the powerful 3D software, CINEMA 4D v. 10. Its rendering tasks can stress up to sixteen multiprocessors on the same computer.

We ran Cinebench with 32-bit color depth at a 1920 x1200 resolution & stock Sager Video Driver.

Conclusion

Overall the system ran very well during all testing. The GPU fan kicked on during most of the benchmarks and the CPU fan ran at a low RPM. We didn't notice hardly any heat coming up from the keyboard or wrist pad area. The games looked amazing in person. :) [/B]

sick... I do not find the upgrade option particularly enticing especially since you can buy a new Sager NP9262 for about the same price (Old price of Sager 9260 + upgrade)

 WOW

UPS man will be here tomorrow!! I cannot wait.

Does anyone have experience with modding the INF for drivers?

Justin, does the control panel state what nvidia driver version (if any) the 5792 comes with?

Wow,those are poor results. Updating the driver got my results ( on a 7950GTX ) better than those on the 8800M GTX,unbelieveble :D)
The 3dmark06 score is impressive to say the least, it`s equal to a SLI form either 7950GTX or 8700GT ...but gaming with stock drivers seems terrible. I`m confident that the difference for 750$ in upgrade over my beast will be evident once drivers are set ok. I had a bit of a trouble with mine, but 169.25 for vista x64 improved all gaming experiences :D
Also, I`ve just remember reading on a lot of sager 5791 selling sites that it is dual hdd capable. Is that ever going be a true statement?

The 5792/8800GTX/Vista is 64% faster then the 5791/7950GTX/XP (approx. 5400 3D06) and 78% faster then 5791/8700GT/Vista (approx. 4941 3D06). :)

We ran three tests and used the results on the 3rd test. On the very first run we scored just over 8900 3D06. Though it is not up to 2x7950 in SLI on the 9260 (9097 3D06) I am sure more driver support will definitely increase these scores. We are OC'ing the card now and will post updates with some new scores.

Edit: We have not heard any confirmed info of Dual Hard Drives.

Actually, to accurately comaper the 8800GTX w/ 7950 Sli, u have to get 2 of the same proccessors, for that 800 pt difference might very well be due to the proc. difference bw the 2.

I`d say the same as the sager 5791 : 1.5-2 hours.
Score in 3dmark06 may be bigger, but in-game results have not blown my 7950GTX away just yet :D

Wow, that is cool.

Thanks Justin for posting the benchmarks.

Looking forward to you posting the SLI benchmark scores of the SLI 8800GTX's and intel 6700 quad core combo's.

Seems pretty easy to figure : about 12-13k 3dmarks , twice the fps you saw in benchmarks for the 5792 and half the battery :D

on crysis ... funny, I get almost the same FPS @1600x900 on my single 7900... as in about 30fps.

I would hope it would do better at higher res.

1280x1024 all settings to MEDIUM same as the 8800 test.

2007-12-21 22:24:31 - Crysis
Frames: 2317 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 38.617 - Min: 26 - Max: 53

here is my 7900gtx single @ 625 with a 50mhz delta 750 memory

This is the Full version of the Game in Recovery level.

all I can say is...................

3dmarks mean abofreakenlutely nothing.....!

Realworld Benchmarks *which is what we saw with the Fraps in the start of the thread is what counts.

so... you can get how many 3dmark?? but can't stand up in a real benchmark.. you know.. the one that counts... like playing a game?

As I said, it`s all in the drivers. 169.25 apparently blow away all other drivers for me, massive improvement in performance. I get the same fps,in both unreal and Crysis, so it must be the drivers that slow it down.
Crysis on 1600? dexgo, remind me again your config and your OCed values for the GPU...

drivers don't make that much diff to me anyway.s

my system runs good on alot of diff drivers.

the delta clock can be manipulated from the bios. I go usually from 10mhz to 50mhz and gives extra shading power if your card supports it.

you have to hack it from the bios.

my temps are actually abou 85-89 degrees since inception of my delta clock.

so I can watch in Rivatuner my clocks go up to 625/750. then above I see 675 geometric delta clock.

so my core gets a 50mhz boost.

Check out this review of the Sager NP9260 with dual Go7950GTXs, it is a more accurate comparison in my opinion because for some reason that Alienware was not performing up to par. You can see better benchmarks in the Alienware forum for the M9750; it gets very close to the NP9260 I reviewed.

I agree, you need to have the right drivers for Crysis - that means the 169 beta. Justin, you should try installing those from LaptopVideo2Go.

that I would like to see for sure.

I am sure the 8800 could beat my card down. but so far I have beat dual the dual 8700's in FRAPS on more than 6 occaisions.

but of course thats due to their restrictive 128 bit wide mem bus.

and only @ high res of course.

Well, personally I would not go up to 89-90 C just for a bit more performance. My GPU in Crysis stays safely at MAX 59 C so maybe in the future`, I`ll go ahead and OC,but then again, I might not.
Installed 169.28 today,no improvement over .25 .So it is my ferm belief that the best Crysis driver so far is .25

I don`t know the limit of my 7950GTX, temp-wise and I`d like it to last as long as possible. Will upgrade to the 8800M GTX in June, so until then, it must be in top-shape :)

Actually the 8700m GT in SLI with the right drivers is a good performer and with overclocking. Hell my setup runs Lost Planet Demo DX10 (Yeah the unoptimized game) With almost all options on High and with 30fps at 1920x1200.

Gears of War runs maxed @ 1920x1200 30-40 fps depending on the situation.

Crysis at Medium settings and with tweaked config that adds some nice effects from High options runs at 30 fps @ 1680x1050.
