Sweet, I shall wait then.

However upgrading to P9500 from the T9400 will be very minimal. -

The upgrade to the P9500 from the T93/9400 should be about $35.
-
Are you guys expecting to get back ordered or delayed delivery like the m15x did (1-2 month delays)/?

^--^
There will be a small supply in the beginning, but a regular supply should be in inventory shortly after launch.
There is no way there will be a 1-2 month delay. -
Just wondering, whats the difference between the T/P aspect? Is one more powerful than the other, or is it a difference in power usage? And if we wanted the upcoming T9400, would we choose the current T9300 with your preorder offers? Because i see there isnt an option for a T9400 currently.
-
The P series CPUs would be more power conservative, yes.
-
Any idea if there will be an upgrade path for us NP579x users?
-
imo ^^ except for maybe the video card i doubt it..

Hopefully more of these chips will be ocable through the bios instead of just the xtreme one.

Thanks Justin -
P9500/T9400
They are clocked exactly the same, and like said before, the only difference is the voltage and power usage. The T9400 uses 35W vs the P9500 @ 25W. The advantage of the T9400 is one we likely could not use, that is better stability when overclocked. Many of us underclock our CPUs already, and find them very stable at lower voltages.
I'd say the P9500 is worth the extra $32 for the lower voltage and power usage and cooler running CPU. Hopefully it is available as on option for those who are planning on picking one of these up. -
So it was good intuition for me to have wanted the p9500 since the launch of the montevina processors. Good thing PCMW offered it.

This isn't as big as the CPU/GPU upgrade stuff, but what are the specs for the ddr3 ram? Can I at least get the frequency? Would it be 1066? Hoping for 1600 though....
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
The Intel PM/GM45 chipset supports up to 1066MHz DDR3.
-
So like how much orders will go out in the first batch of shipping??? Cos if I'm ordering I need it before August 2nd....
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
There will be a limited supply in the beginning, so if you need it by August 2nd you should get your order in right away, and stick to the Orange trim
-
I see.... May be this is a stupid question....but since the TU supports the 9800 GTx ...wont it support the higher end card from ATi?.? Will that be up on offer? Since performance seems to be similar for a much smaller price tag?
-
No one really has any idea what the 9800gtx will be except for that slight leak. Until some benchmarks come out, you can't compare the performance.
-
oh ohk... but wot bout the availability ... of ATi cards with 5796
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
They will not be available at the launch...they are still buggy, and are not producing any where near the benchmark scores that are being touted by ATi at this time.
They might be offered later if they make sense.
