    Hey Everyone,
I have to say right off the bat, this computer rocks despite the problem I'm having.
I have an NP5793, T9300 2.5gz, Nvidia Geforce 8800M GTX, 4gb ram. The problem is, every now and then it will lock up and freeze. This doesn't happen at any particular time, and not too often but often enough. There seems to be no correlation between any of the incidents.

Anyone have a similar problem? Where should I look to first to start troubleshooting this?

Does everything look good in the Device Manager?

You might just have a driver conflict from software or hardware such as video drivers.

Freeze in what manner? Can you give a bit more detail?

    I'm trying to avoid a re-install.
All my drivers look good, except the fingerprint scanner. I don't want to use it, but I'll fish out the drivers and install it anyways.

When the computer freezes, the screen just locks. Mouse, keyboard, not responsive. If I press the mouse button a lot the internal speaker beeps at me.

What's your operating system? If you're running vista than it just might be a few bugs that Microsoft still hasn't worked out yet. Do you have automatic updates turned on?

    Windows XP, 32bit

There are some updates in my queue that keep on failing to install, don't know why. This has been happening before these updates got backed up.
