The ESC, F5, and F9 keys on my 5793 have recently stopped working, and I have been unable to adjust my screen brightness among many things, and I'm wondering if there is any kind of quick fix for this or if it is a hardware malfunction? Also, if there a a way to change the screen brightness without using the FN key, that would be much appreciated as well.

    Thanks

Try to re-install the hotkey drivers.

and try reseating the keyboard connector ribbon (take keyboard out - very easy, follow service manual in my sig, unplug cable - very carefully - and plug back in)

Thanks for the support so far, the hotkey drivers did not work, reseating connector ribbon now.

    Thanks

Also, if there are any ways to adjust the screen brightness other than the FN keys, that would solve my most immediate problem. The keyboard cable reseat didn't help, so at the moment I'm most worried about getting my screen brightness up.

unfortunately, I don't know of any way to adjust the brightness without the fn keys. I'd suggest calling your reseller and gettig a new keyboard
