I get this error when trying to install Windows XP. In the laptop's Setup the hard drive (WD3200BEKT) is recognized on SATA Port 1 though.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is there something I need to disable in the settings, like the Robson Turbo Memory, or something else?

nm, just solved it, it was the Robson Turbo Memory, I guess XP doesn't support it or something. Well, at least this will serve for some help for others with this simple problem. Now I feel like an idiot =)

Well the Robson memory (Turbo Memory) doesn't work under Windows XP anyways.
But there should be a AHCI setting in the BIOS which is enabled when you have Windows Vista/Windows 7 chosen in BIOS. This setting gets disabled when you choose Windows XP.

AHCi is the way the harddrive is detected in the machine. AHCI is compatible with Windows Vista and newer operating systems, and is NOT by default supported by Windows XP.
You can fix this by slipstreaming the drivers into the Windows XP driver CD, but the things that AHCI supports are not needed in Windows XP anyways, so no need to use time on doing that :)

In the 579x, the AHCI setting is the same one as the robson for some reason, so yes, he had AHCI enabled, hence xp not installing. You can get xp installed with ahci, you just need the correct drivers.
