Well, what I am trying to do is install either a Mini or Half Mini PCIe SATA SSD but I am having some trouble with the current Mini I am testing out. I have tried both the TV and Robson slots but it is not being detected in either Windows or the BIOS.
The BIOS does indicate three SATA connections though:
1) My Hitachi HDD
2) DVD Drive
3) None - Where is this connection?
Either way, I just need some pointers/advice on what should be done and where exactly this 3rd SATA connection is and how I can get the Mini PCIe to be recognized.
I am currently running tests with a Super-Talent 64GB FPM64GLSE Sata II Mini PCIe MLC SSD.
Below is a picture of the motherboard and the two slots I have tried.

I heard that the half mini ssd need a controller card built in to work in those half mini slots.

My buddy says he's got his working in the TV slot using a 50mm SATA OCZ SSD. Unfortunately, they don't sell them anymore. Either way, I think I may have figured it out. From what I have been told, in order for power to be supplied to the socket, the ground screw has to be screwed in to the SSD PCB. In my current situation, the PCB is 70mm and cannot be grounded, therefor, no power is provided. Any idea if I am correct here? Seems extremely plausible.
Regardless, I am sending back the current SSD and have just ordered a 64GB Runcore Pro IV Light 50mm mini-SATA PCI-e Solid State Drive SSD. I've only heard good things so looking forward to it. -
Often laptop mini-pcie slots are not fully wired for pcie - they can also be wired for USB, so not all devices will work in all slots. The wiring diagrams are in the service manual in my sig if you want to look it up for this machine.
