Well, I current have 4GB DDR3 but I am planning on upgrading my HDD to a 500GB 7200RPM. However, I would also like to increase my ram to 8GB DDR3 but from the information I have found, the 5796 only supports up to 4GB. Does anybody have any information to confirm this? Are there any BIOS updates that will allow 8GB? Just curious.

    Regards,

    John

    EDIT:

    Just found this:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/4604755-post156.html

Says 16GB is the max. Can anybody confirm?

Please excuse the bump, but there is a special going on right now which I would like to purchase if the 8GB RAM upgrade is supported.

Again, please excuse this, but there has been no reply and there is another deal I can get for 8GB of 1066.

I generally trust Gophn on all things Clevo. That said have a look at this link, a retailer sells with up to 8GB. I know the chipset supports over 4GB.

It can definitely handle 8GB, however I can't comment on Gophn's comment of up to 16GB. I also don't know of any manufacturer that makes a single 8GB SODIMM.
    That setup will be fine.
