Can someone with one of these laptops tell me what kind of optical drive is in it? I ordered one yesterdaay and am trying to figure out if it has a SATA connector or old style IDE connector on the optical drive.

    Thanks,

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

All current mainstream notebooks (like Centrino 2) are using the SATA interface connector for the optical drives.

Outstanding! Thanks for the fast response.

I have a blu-ray slot load drive that I will use in this thing when I get it.

I used to own a 9880 - and loved it. So I can't wait to get this one.

M570RU is IDE, TU is SATA.
