Basically I am considering buying either a Sony Vaio S 15 inch or one of these. I know the Sager/Clevo will give me significantly more bang for my buck, but I am concerned about the size!

I am under the impression that Sager build quality is wonderful, but I just wanted to make sure I was not assuming anything. So does anyone have any opinions on the build quality?

The Sager site gives the height/thickness as 0.64"~1.63". Is that 1.63" an accurate number for how thick the thickest point would be?
(I would get it with the i7-3610QM, GT 650M, 95% NTSC Gamut, diamond thermal compound, the 750gb drive, and the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 - if any of that makes a difference).

    Edit: Size would be 0.50"~1.46"

You're considering a 15 inch vs an 11.6 inch and are concerned about the size of the 11.6" ? I'd say the thickness is accurate, but that's from bumper bottom to top of lid at the very back. I'll take an image later with a scale when I get a chance.

No internal hardware is gonna cause the thickness to increase :) unless you blow ur laptop up :p

Well my problem is, I do want a larger screen but also want a small machiene and almost nothing competes with the Sager for performance per price and size, but if it is that thick it would make it harder for me to carry around in my bag and is something I would want to consider. I was going to ask about the 15" - NP6165 - the one with Sager as well (the thickness's in my post were actually from the 15") but it seems quite heavy. I would really appreciate a picture! Thank you!
Is the build quality quite good on the machine? And how about battery life? (Just saw the link in your signature so I have the answers to these two questions now, thanks!)

Haha, I did not think so, but the change from the lower thickness to the upper thickness is so great I thought it may not just be the slant of the laptop, but also something that changes.

Hang on. If you're concerned about the size of an 11.6, why are you even considering a 15. Makes no sense.
If you want a small and powerful machine, it really has to be one of the best choices out there.

The W110ER is small and light enough to carry around in your bag. You can comfortably hold it and wave it around with one hand. It is pretty thick for a 11.6" computer, but I do think that this is a minor point. It doesn't feel nor look thick to me.

Mmk thanks guys. I thought I was being ridiculous, but the dimensions of the Clevo really just scared me. It was hard to imagine a 1.46 inch thick 11.6" laptop haha. Anyway now I am just trying to decide if the keyboard and battery life are good enough for me. But those are obviously just personal things. Thanks again everyone!
