I received my new Sager NP6165 approximately one month ago. The laptop has been working splendidly, until today. I was sitting at the dinner table watching a short YouTube video while working on another laptop. The Sager eventually went to sleep. When I tried to wake it up, the PC would power on but there was no video on the LCD. I pulled the battery and let it sit for a minute or 2 before trying to power on again. Still no luck.

I realized that every time I try and power it on the fan kicks on full speed after about 30 seconds and the 3 lock lights on the front of the PC flash. After another 30 seconds or so the PC powers off.

I called the only tech support I could reach on a Sunday afternoon and he told me to pull the batter and leave it off for an hour. Tried that and still no luck.

Any other ideas? Anyone else have experience with this on any Sager/Clevo PC? I've only had this laptop a month and am not looking forward to already having to send it in for service.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does it ever beep and start loading windows? Are you sure the screen isn't turned off or something similar?

Try pulling the CMOS battery connector for 10 seconds or so. Its easily accessible if you pull the main bottom cover off.

No sound. I was unaware that I could even manually turn off the screen. I was watching a video for about 10 minutes then closed the laptop. When I went to use it about 30 minutes later I ran unto the problem.

I'll try the CMOS trick next.

Pulled the CMOS battery for about 15 seconds. Still no luck.

ok, this may sound stupid, but did you unplug your laptop when you removed the battery?

Yup, unplugged with no battery. The tech I spoke with yesterday told me to put it back on the AC adapter without the battery once I had waited an hour.

Called Sager directly today and they think it could be a motherboard failure. Shipped the laptop back to them an hour ago. Hopefully the turnaround is quick. I'm not too stoked about purchasing my first Sager and having issues one month in...
