I swear... I'm ready to through this Sager NP-piece of crap out the window. It's had problems since DAY ONE and every time I go to touch something to fix it, another issue arises.
So, after this fiasco --> http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/numeric-keypad-touchpad-and-minimized-windows-not-working-in-windows-10.829758/#post-10935366 I ended up having to reinstall Windows 10 or at least I think that's what I did. It ended up not fixing a thing. Toggle Keys are still on, except on the Windows login screen, and the mouse was still acting up. I fixed the mouse issue I think, but now the display is screwing up.
My screen keeps going out. Sometimes it will go back to normal and other times I get the failed to start message and it reverts back to the Microsoft basic driver. It just did this and I opened up Device Manger to see what was going on. Both the Nvidia GeForce 1050ti and Intel HD Graphics 630 have exclamation marks on them. I right click to see what's going on and the Intel driver gives me this code 43.
I JUST UPDATED BOTH DRIVERS LIKE YESTERDAY. I did a clean install for the Nvidia one. Also, Windows just did another one of its updates and pretty much every time that happens something else goes wrong...
I wanna Hulk smash this thing. If someone could please help a poor girl out I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Back from the original post I did mean to say that you should only use a mildly moist cloth to clean the device with. Alcohol is a very bad choice due to it's ability to dissolve protective layers.
Do an uninstall on both devices in device manager ticking remove drivers too. Then do the intel ones alone and see how the system behaves. Then do the Nvidia ones if they work and see what happens. -
Thank you for getting back to me so soon!
That's what I did, but I used alcoholI was trying to kill germs. Damn my OCD.
Should I do that through Device Manager? So, open that up, right click on each device and hit uninstall, first starting with the Intel one?
I hope you don't mind me asking a follow-up question to my last thread here, but when I reinstalled Windows it did keep a back up folder on my hard drive called Windows.old. I was under the impression that everything would get erased. So did I do that right?
Thank you again! -

It's used to recover back in case you wanted usually.
Correct with device manager. -
Okie doe. I uninstalled the device. Now my screen resolution is a lot lower. I opened up Photoshop CC 2018 and the resolution is real low there as well. It's supposed to use the Nvidia GPU but when I click on its control panel it says you are not currently using a display connected to a Nvidia GPU or something like that.
What's the next step? -

Yes so now you are running the microsoft basic display driver which the o ly aim is to get a display so you can install the drivers. So get the Intel ones installed. Either from Intel themselves or our driver download page.

My laptop went to sleep after some inactivity and I resumed it using the power button, well, lo and behold the Intel Driver is listed back in Device Manager! I didn't install anything yet. How did this happen?

Welcome to windows 10.
-
I'm going to try again and restart. -
I thought it was fixed but it just did it again (code 43)! And Firefox is giving me a hell of a time. Could the two be related?
-

Do other browsers do it?
-
I only use Firefox, but I can try Internet Explorer.
-
It happened in Internet Explorer. And the screen went black. And in Task Manger I'm getting the low on memory saying even though I'm only using like 50%. I have 8Gb and I only have Photoshop (minimized and set to use only 72% of RAM), a couple folders, and the old Windows Photo Viewer running, well, there are some background tasks running like Avast. I feel like banging my head against the wall. I have so much homework I need to do and need my laptop to do it but it's unusable like this!

What are your virtual ram settings?
-
I don't know. I have 8GB, but that's all I know about that. But I am thinking it's a RAM problem. All I have running (besides some background tasks and services) is Firefox and I'm using 69% of memory. But it hasn't crashed (yet).
How do I get the settings you're looking for so I can share them with you? -

https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+virtual+ram+settings
Top result there, this is the space windows uses when ram runs out and it has to use your storage instead.
16GB is recommended if you want to do some more intensive work. -
O.M.G.
I think I caused all this. You see, this laptop has disappointed me right out the box unlike my last Sager. I'm constantly fixing things and trying to make it run as fast as it should. My boot time is REALLY long and I came across this article --> https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/windows-10-slow-boot-issues/
Well, it mentions fixing the page file size to improve startup time and that's what I did. Windows seemed to be using way too much MB and I set the size to the recommended 1901MB... for both the initial and maximum sizes. I knew as I was doing it that that didn't seem right, but I went ahead and did it anyway. After I looked at the link you gave me I read this --> https://www.geeksinphoenix.com/blog/post/2016/05/10/how-to-manage-windows-10-virtual-memory.aspx and discovered how off I was.
I'm so sorry. I feel so stupid. However, I did the math and fixed it. I set the initial size to 12,288MB and the max size to 24,576MB. But my laptop stills seems to be using to much memory. Now I set it back to let Windows handle it for me.
The crashes, black screen, and low memory signs seem to be gone. You know what's odd? Throughout this whole process in the back of my mind I had the thought more than once that messing with the page file size could have done this. But I ignored it.
I'm really sorry. I can't thank you enough though for sticking with me and solving the issue. I will honestly be forever grateful!
I'm so stupid omg -

The other option is to go to 32gb as above but always keeping some page file is a good idea.

You do need to add more memory doing what you did to make it work properly.
