Sager NP7270 vs NP7278

Any notable difference between the Sager NP7270 vs NP7278? The only thing I see is that the 7270 has a 960m instead of a 965m but there is an offer for a free upgrade so you get the exact same specs for each at the same price. Is either one better than the other? Are either of them good buys?

 

They are basically the same systems with the graphics card differences as you mentioned. They are based off of the Clevo N170Rx model. The N170RD has the 960m, the N170RF has the 965m. The case is the same, the letters are just the different graphics cards in them. That is the same thing you would see with like the NP865x models basically. Normally, the NP7270 is a solid buy in that price range. The NP7278 is a pretty good deal since it is on sale at the same price.

 

Right now you're better off with the NP7278 since it is a free upgrade, being the only difference is the GPU. while the difference from the 960m to the 965m is small, it's still a little extra power

 

They're just about identical systems beyond the NVidia graphics chip. You can see how the 965M stacks up against the 960M on notebookcheck.net.

For a comparison of all graphics cards, this is handy as well. I'd recommend restricting the list to the two cards you are comparing though.

Any reviews? There doesn't seem to be anything on the NP7278 on here or online.

I have one that will arrive tomorrow from Xoticpc PC. I will be happy to do a full review if the community is interested. I'll try to get ahold of a sound level meter if I can find one for fan noise. Software should be able to grab all of the other statistics.
