    Hey all,

Long time no see! I haven't been on here in a while since work/school/gf . Also, since I moved a year ago, I never ordered internet at home, so haven't really gotten a chance to check in as often as I like. Typing this from the hallway of community college :)

Anywho, my Sager NP7330/Clevo W230ST is nearing its 2year mark (July 2013 purchase date). And ever since becoming a Sager/Clevo fan, I don't think there's ever going back to any other laptop brands that I've owned in the past (Alienware, HP). So I wanted to ask--- What should I get next :)? My laptop's still going strong, and I might do a repaste tonight with IC Diamond, but since it's getting old (and potentially outdated), should I upgrade, and what should I upgrade to? Any upcoming light/compact Sager/Clevos coming out soon? Or did the Sager NP7339/Clevo W230SD just come out and it's too soon to ask?

Thanks! Shout out to HTWingnut, Ryan, Prema, and any of the other Vets from back in the day that helped convert me!

    Hey there.

I would personally recommend the NP8651. It's not very light or compact (weighing in at around 5 pounds), but it's probably the best bang-for-your-buck device Sager offers. The starting configuration is around $1200, but if you add an SSD and IC Diamond Thermal Compound (which I do recommend), you're looking at around $1400, which is still good for what you're getting.

The 970m is an upper-range graphics card that should run most games of today at Ultra settings with pretty high framerates. The build quality is good, and the reviews have been generally positive.

Just putting in my two cents. Best of luck!

I guess what makes you think it's getting old? Does it do what you want it to do? Are there some games it won't play? Or are you just looking for something "newer, faster, better"? In that case, I concur with @shooterboss assessment. NP8651 is a great 15" laptop that offers a well rounded package.

Otherwise I'd hold on to it for a little while if it manages the stuff you want it to do.

Are you on an ssd, simply popping in an ssd could give it a new lease on day to day life if not.

If you liked the size for portability and its hardware the NP7339 would be your best bet. If you wanted to go bigger the NP8651 NP8652 are a new chassis that wasn't available when you got yours. At least worth taking a look at.

Have to agree with what HT said... The NP8651 will be a great upgrade if your aiming to get the most powerful bang for your buck or to play new games...
