So I guess posting the problem here would get more answers / views than just mentioning it the review.
    Any suggestion please? :(

Thanks, actually I was planning to do exactly that but it's Saturday now, plus the next Monday will be Thanksgiving Day so I will have to wait until next Tuesday.

In the meantime I'm still looking for some quick fix (preferably not hardware-related). Digging around a little found me some topics about non-working usb ports but their solutions didn't work for my case so I hope to find some more suggestions here.

hmm could be a lose contact of the port itself. no quick fix for that though, since it would involve opening up the machine and using a soldering iron :p

That is a 2.0 port so it should have native drivers for Windows 7 and 8 so that wouldnt be the problem. It may be hardware which would require an RMA.

It should also work in the bios. As above contact your reseller.

Check your Device Manager for any notifications under "universal serial bus controllers." It does sound like a potentially faulty port.

Nothing unusual in device manager though...

I didn't find any option in bios to enable/disable the port either.

So I've contacted Reflex Notebook and they have set me up for a RMA. Good thing I have the 2-way ground shipping service coverage add-on.

Right, there is no option for that in BIOS. Sad day! But it's good to hear Reflex is taking care of you. :)

you may have already gotten this taken care of but for troubleshooting make sure you turn off selective power management of the USB ports in Windows. Just to rule out that WIndows isn't turning off the port for some stupid reason.
