I have a Sager NP8130 which I bought from XoticPC. It's been a great laptop except a few minor quirks (I think the video card was/is faulty) but overall has been great.
I leave my laptop on at night playing videos while I sleep. Last night around 2am it stopped which caused me to wake up. I just figured the video card did what it always does and crashed the driver and then caused the PC to crash. Usually this is fixed by powering down the system and then power it back on (hard reset required).
But last night was different, it was already powered down. So I pressed the power on button and nothing happened. No lights, no buzz, nothing. Pressed and held the power button for 30 seconds hoping that would reset it and would come on. Nothing.
So now I am with a dead laptop. The possibilities of what the problem is, is too many to name. I am think/hoping it's just the power brick (AC adapter) died and when it died the battery which doesn't last very long anymore drained and then died.
Anybody have any other suggestions on things I can try to fix it? I can't afford to replace it or really fix much of anything since I am unemployed.
Also anybody have any suggestions on where to buy a cheap AC Adapter/Power Brick for it? $75 is a bit out of my range.
Thanks.

If you haven't yet, try changing the outlet and see if that works. You might also try removing the battery pushing the power button on for a bit and then replacing the battery and trying to power back on like that. Amazon popped up with some alternative replacements if brand name replacements are too expensive so try just looking up NP8130 and see what you get there and then check around for reviews if you have to go that route.

What are the specs of the laptop, especially the GPU? In reading this forum it seems Radeons enjoy failing often. However your NP8130 should have come with a GeForce, which are not nearly as likely to break.
Before throwing money on a new adapter, just get a cheap multimeter and test your current one. -

The power cycling suggested is a good thing to try.
Depending on how comfortable you are with computers you can also try removing all the RAM and trying one stick at a time. You can also try reseating the CPU and GPU, if you do that just be sure to have thermal compound to reapply. -
I already removed the battery pressed the power button for about 30 seconds and replaced it with no change. And I tried other plug ins and all other devices plugged into that strip are still working.
My dad may have a multi meter...
And to Hutsady, I can try that and am very familiar with building desktops (built several hundred of them). Just not so familiar with laptops and their tight cramped spaces with my big fat fingers. -
My dad just used his multi-meter and he thinks the transformer is dead. He is getting nothing from it, but the cord going into the transformer gets a reading.
So hopefully this means it is a relatively cheap fix. -
When you plug in your AC adapter, is there a green light on the brick?
When you plug in the adapter to your laptop, do the small yellow lights on the front come on?
It may be a broken AC plug/pin on your motherboard causing the battery to not be charged. And at 0%, you won't get any lights at all on your laptop, nor will you be able to charge it. -

Did you not report the gpu issues while it was in warranty?

No Green light that I can see on the transformer, never noticed that it had a green light to begin with and I am not seeing where it would be. It's a Liteon pa-1131-07. -

I haven't digested the part about you leaving it on all night playing games while you are sleeping. Is someone else using it at that time? Are ghosts arriving each night to watch those games?

Hmm... It's strange that the Nvidia 400 and later cards have these problems. It's a small sample, but I had laptops with every generation since the 400 series and yours is the first time I heard of it. Check my posting history here, I went through a 3830tg, g53sw, np8130, m14x r2, y410p and now back to another np8130. After reading vast amounts of posts in their respective threads, virtually none of their owners complained about driver crashes. Overheating? Sure. But very rare physical failures.

Well, your GPU may very well have died, another forum member may need to clarify this, but you'd do well to replace it with an Nvidia 660m, which runs significantly cooler, and faster.
Sager NP8130 (from XoticPC) won't power on, 1 month after warranty expired :(
