My Sager NP8130 which I purchased about 2 years ago and now is out of warranty refuses to start up.

When the power cable is not connected, keeping the power button causes the Bluetooth and Powered/Charging LED indicators to blink.
However, when the power cable is connected, pressing the power button doesn't cause anything to happen.
When the power cable is connected, the Powered/Charging and Battery indicators glow.

Other than this, there's no sign of life - no motors turning, no HDD spinning, nothing. There hasn't been any gradual or observable decline in health. It was working fine yesterday night and suddenly today morning it refuses to start up.

I'm clueless how to proceed. Can someone please offer any suggestions?

rushed as at work but try this

remove mains and battery and hold power button down for 30-40 seconds.
plug in mains and no battery and try to boot
    no good
remove mains and hold power button down again. then try bootin on only battery.
    no good
try and hunt for the cmos battery. could be in base or under keyboard as dont know your model.
if you find it remove for 30 seconds and put back. and then try above again.

    report back

What MrDJ is suggesting is a EC reset. This sometimes fixes quirks, but if you have faulty hardware, there's not much you can do for it. Give it a shot and let us know what happens!
