I am looking for a gaming laptop that is under $1000, and the specs of the NP8130 for the price are great. an i7 with a 560m it hard to find for under $1000. But there are a couple issues I have with the NP8130. I know while gaming the battery will die pretty quickly, but while I am just browsing the web, or typing a document, what will my battery life be then?

Also I have heard some good things, and some bad things about the build quality, first of all I have heard the keyboard flexes pretty bad when you are typing, and second of all it is entirely plastic. Is this a problem? Any other build quality problems I should know of?

Lastly, are there any other laptops I should look at for under $1000?

I was looking at the Asus G74sx, and the G53sw. But I read that the 560m in those don't have as much power as the full 560m, like in the Sager.

So what are your guy's opinions?

    Thanks for looking.

For around $1000 the NP8130 is the best option to go with while stilling getting a gaming gpu. As you've probably seen there are lower price Sager models but they will also have lower GPU's which really arent made for running new games well. If you're doing basic task on your computer, with power save mode on, and lower screen brightness you can get 2-3hrs of battery time.

The on the 8130 and all 81XX models is actaully really nice. It's when you get to the entr level 51XX that the quality isnt as great. Once you get a 8130 in you're hands you'll see its a good build quality. I personally haven't had long periods of time on the 8130 to comment on its keyboard flex but I can say its not a common issue I've read.

Since you've mentioned Asus, they do make good models as well. But for around $1000 you wont find as good of a combo. If you look at the G53SW-XR1 it has an i7 2630QM and GTX 460M vs the 8130 with i7 2630QM and GTX 560M and roughly the same price.
The 560M is only the lower end version on the G53SX models. The other two you mentioned will both use the 192bit bus. The G53SW will be around your budget but its the GTX 460M. The best bang for your buck is the Sager NP8130.
