Sager noob here. I've had my NP8170 for around 6 months, and recently switched out the Nvidia 460m inside of it for a 580m. I know it's 3D capable, and wanted to see if it was possible to upgrade the screen from the stock screen to the 120hz version, or even to the matte version if that's not possible. Thanks!

120Hz version is not possible, they have different motherboards.

    But to the matte yes,

search on eBay for B173HW01 V.4 or B173HW01 V.5 and you will come across the nice screens.

Is it really safe to order from ebay? I've been burned on ordering parts from them before.

Is there any particular difference between the V4 and V5?
