I have a brand new Sager NP8177. Not even a week old. It has shut down three times while playing games. The screen just goes blank. I have HWmonitor running and both the cpu and gpu are getting up to 77-80, but possibly more, degrees.

I have windows in high performance mode, gaming mode, and nvidia is set to performance mode.

So is this overheating? What can I do?

Could be the power brick or the system tripping. I assume you have been running it on a flat surface with the brick uncovered by anything? Contact support and get it looked at.

Doubtful if said temps are true to form. Possibly the power brick is tripping it, though the main board is very much suspect, too.

Contact support. It sounds like hardware malfunction, so your reseller will need to help you.
