I'm assuming the port it's supposed to go in is the slot near the battery since there's nothing in it and there's a screw there that I'm assuming is supposed to secure the mSATA in place. But I just bought a Plextor 256GB M5M and it doesn't seem to fit. If I force it any more, it'll probably break. This is frustrating...
Edit: NVM. I faced my fear I jammed it through and it went in. lol

Much like ram it needs to go in at an angle and then be pushed down.

thanks in advance. -
2. Remove the bottom panel (should be 4 screws to take out)
3. Remove the silver screw that's in that empty slot below the battery and above the CPU fan.
4. And like Meaker said, it goes in like RAM. Put it in at an angle (45 degrees?) and make sure it goes all the way in. Then push it down and screw it back in with the silver screw that was in there.sabadollah likes this. -

Yeah it's roughly 45 degrees. It should not resist too much but feel secure when it's in.

No it does not but the mSATA slot is right under the main hatch.

The 8230's main service hatch is on the bottom of the machine and is the largest removable panel held on by 4 screws.

Having a fear of using force on any part of a notebook is not a bad thing and is much better than the opposite

So, a rubber mallet and not a ball peen?
