After installing windows, and all of the latest drivers, and testing a variety of games, I ended up restarting the computer, and suddenly the light that indicates that the nvidia gpu is active suddenly flips on, and it is stuck on all the time, but it says the intel gpu is in use and in the device manager the nvidia gpu has an exclamation mark and says code 43.

    i7 4810MQ

    8g RAM

    Nvidia 880m GTX

Is there a way to fix this? I even uninstalled windows and the gpu light remains on in the bios and with no OS installed. Please advise.

Hmm, that's strange behavior. Is there any change after reloading Windows + the driver? If you feel comfortable with it, you can physically remove the card and reseat it if that doesn't work. It's probably not the connection, but it's worth a try. Otherwise you should contact your seller for advice and/or RMA if it boils down to it.

It could be coincidence you were unlucky and the GPU had an issue.

I ended up having to send it to Sager. They sent it back to me and it arrived today. I am currently reinstalling windows and the drivers and will report back with whether the problem is solved or not!

    Update:

The Code 43 error is now gone from the Nvidia card after installing all of the drivers. I will come back with another update after I run some games and such to test it, but so far so good!

That was a quick turn around considering your original post was from the 7th.

Yes, it was very fast. I called Sager support on Thursday the 7th, they guided me through reinstalling windows, and the drivers. When that didnt work they told me I had to send it to them, and emailed me instructions along with a UPS tag. I mailed it Friday, and it was recieved on Monday, and then on Wednesday it was shipped back to me, and I recieved it today. Still installing things at the moment though, but things are looking good still!

Obviously good timings for how busy they were. Glad it was sorted quickly :)

    Update 2:

I ran Diablo 3, and WoW, both ran very smoothly, no hiccups, the gpu is properly switching to the nvidia one now. Everything is looking great! I was happy about how fast they dealt with the issue, and how fast I got the laptop back. I am glad everything seems great so far. I will keep you posted.
