This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Sager NP8270 and Windows 7 UEFI

    When attempting to install Windows 7 in UEFI mode, the laptop hangs during the "Starting Windows" animation. Does anyone know how to work around this? (Note: installing in legacy mode is not an option, as I want GPT partitioning for Linux and Windows 7 does not support that in legacy BIOS mode).

    You may need a BIOS mod. I believe stock BIOS only permits Windows 8 install on UEFI.
