Please help my machine with Windows 8 doesnt remember brightness setting. I always set it to 50% brightness but after booting while loading startup programs it reverts back to 100%. No matter what I do it wont remember it. I have tried different power plans and modified it in advanced settings but no luck.

Do you happen to have autobrightness enabled in the power plan advanced settings? That should\ be disabled. Also, does anything change permanently when you use the hotkey toggle for the LCD backlight?
