The 780 has no impact since it's the intel chip that controls all display outputs.

You can get 3 monitor out puts (2x external + internal or 3x external) by using two display port monitors (so internal + 2 DP or 2x DP and any other connector)

Meaker- could you explain " has no impact " 2x external + internal, internal meaning laptop screen? im just a little confused sorry.

lets make the question easier,. Could I play, say Counter Strike GO with three EXTERNAL screens ( 3 ,23" monitors using all x3 display ports ).

What Meaker is saying is that the 780M is not responsible for driving external monitors, the Intel CPU is. The Intel CPU will drive three monitors.

You can do this by either using two external monitors and the built in monitor (use 2 display ports for external monitors) or you can not use the internal monitor at all, and instead use three external monitors (2 display ports and 1 of any other port for an external monitor).

No since the intel chip does not support running 3 displays linked driving a single full screen game.

The 780M is a slave processor to the intel integrated graphics, it is just sent the scenes to render but the intel chip actually outputs the frames to the monitor. You are bound by the technical limitations of the intel chip.

So the intel chip can drive the internal display (the screen of the laptop itself) and 2 external ones IF those two external use display port connections. It can also drive 3 external displays (but not the internal) if two of those displays use display port (the other can use the HMDI in that case).

These will act like 3 independent displays which you can extend your desktop over but you wont be able to use Nvidia surround since the nvidia chip has no part in driving the displays.
