In the NotebookReview.com Review ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=297670) Chez mentions the 9800GT, not the 9800GTS that I see in all of the NP8660's resellers (xotic, etc)

Am I correct in assuming that the 9800GT is more powerful? What happened to it? Can I still purchase it with a NP8660?

there might be few reselers out there that still have it on stock if you search hard enough. In terms of performance I have the gts and I can't see any differences compared to the gt (which my gf has on hers), might be smewhere in the 2-3% difference and might depend on the game in question (GTS has higher clocks by default).

the GT is a re badged 8800GTX and is slightly more powerfull. it has been discontinued by Nvidia and replaced by the GTS card.
ai ioaniro said, if you phone the re sellers up to check if they have any in stock as you can never always rely on their websites being updated regulary.
thing is once they are gone they are gone.

Because it's an old model, an 8800M GTX (rebadged, but same exact hardware)

Not sure, maybe because it performed so close to the 9800M GTS.

    Or what he said^^
