Hey there NBR,
It's been awhile since I've been here. Last time was when I was asking for laptop recommendations. Was told that the Clevo M860TU would be perfect for me, and I wasn't let down. Best laptop I've used hands down.
However, after a few years of amazing use, my LCD screen is starting to act all wonky. I have this single pixel width, vertical green line that appears on my screen. Also, I'll sometimes get pulsating scan lines every now and then.
I was certain that it was a ribbon / connection issue, but even though I've made sure everything is hooked up and in place, I can't get rid of the problem.
I can alleviate the issue slightly by finding certain angles to open the LCD screen to, or by very slightly (Trust me. Verrrrry slightly) "flexing" the LCD screen.
So, I figure I'd come here for suggestions. I'm pretty sure I'll end up having to buy a new LCD screen, and I've found this one that I'm pretty interested in as it's actually an upgrade from my lower resolution of 1680 x 1050 to 1920 x 1200.
PROSTAR M860TU LAPTOP LCD SCREEN 15.4" WUXGA GLOSSY CCFL $115
I'm assuming ProStar's M860TU is the exact same thing as Sager's, just rebranded. Would this screen be a compatible buy if I can't fix the issues I have?
Thanks again =)
Edit: Actually just thought about this right after I submitted. Would going up to 1920 x 1200 be a wise decision based on the increased pixel quantity in regards to gaming? ie. Framerates and whatnot.
Edit 2: Also, just to clarify, I've made sure this is an LCD screen problem. External monitors work perfectly fine. So the graphics card isn't wearing out. Yet, at least =P
Last Edit: Everyone loves videos -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYh3avO81CA

They say it is, therefore it should be. You will be able to find out the LCD part number only just before it is being shipped (if you ask).

Not a good price. Way too much for that screen. That is NOT the particular screen that came with your laptop, that is the particular screen they are 95% sure is compatible and is the cheapest thing they can possibly sell.
I believe I found the original LCD this laptop came with on sale for around 50$ recently... Ah yes... well, its the matte version:
