    Hi Everyone,

So I've been reading everyone's posts about heating in laptops and, specifically, the NP8662. I've read about the GPU or Core getting into the 70s and people complaining. My issue is that my GPU and cores get into the 70s when the laptop is idle, and when i do surfing or a game they all shoot up past 100! I called inquiring about this, but they said it's to be expected. My laptop gets so hot it burns me, and I really don't think it should be getting that hot when i'm just surfing the web. Any advice would be appreciated. Is that normal? I used speed fan to test it. Specifications below:
P.S i got a solid state drive and that cooling paste just so this wouldn't happen

Those temps are not normal. I have a Q9100 in my NP8662 and GTX260m and I barely reach more than 77 C on both after heavy gaming for hours. My idle Temps are 45 C for my Graphics and my processor is in the low 40s C.

You need to open your laptop and see what is wrong. Clean Fans and reapply Thermal paste.

I suggest you don't run anything heavy and resolve it as soon as possible or else you might need a new laptop soon

yeah i have a more power hungry config and have never seen 100c.

dont open it up if you dont know what you are doing. call and complain. cuss them out if they say 100c is normal.

as you posted above about getting cooling paste. what make did you get and did you apply it yourself.
i see it came with Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound. if you removed this and reapplied another make yourself then this could be your problem for high temps. its not as easy as spreadding butter but quite intricate and if its done wrong then theres your problem.
