I only know currently that Overeager or something like that that owns it... so lol. But to anyone who owns one, how is the noise level? And the heat? Would it be alright to use this on my bed every once in a while?

the Clevo M860ETU (8662) is still using the same thermal design as the M860TU (8660)....

... so the answers will be pretty much the same if you look up the M860TU (8660) threads. ;)

Lame. Saw a review of the 8660 and said it was pretty loud.

My M860TU isn't loud when I am doing normal tasks like Office or Web Browsing. But when I'm doing something that is CPU or GPU intensive, the fan speeds up and you start hearing a low gush of air coming from the back of the laptop. However, it isn't that loud. My Toshiba P35 was louder from just being idle.

Basically, if you are afraid of it disturbing people in a library, it won't. I've done After Effects rendering in a library and the fans kick up to the max. No one takes notice or even looks up.

read more reviews.... I found it to be quiet in the most part.... as compared to other gaming notebooks.

some of the reviews are done by those that have little experience with gaming notebooks.... mainly with normal notebooks.

gaming notebooks have to have more cooling required ... meaning more fan noise for it to spin up.

I have tested a few M860TU's near me, they are pretty quiet until the fans spin up to cool the system down.... which is still quieter than my D900K at full blast.

and the M860TU has a neat Silent Mode feature when not gaming to keep it really quiet (since the fans do not even need to spin up).

If you use it on your bed, you should use a cooling mat. Even the cooling mat turned of with no fan, it will still keep the laptop cooler. Using it on the bed alone will prevent any air circulation underneath making it too hot regardless.

    I agree with this.
I use my M860TU, with a Zalman NC2000 on my bed (using it right now :p).
I have used it on the bed in the past without a cooler, and it got fairly warm. I wouldn't recommend it, but it is possible. Just make sure you aren't doing any heavy work on it.

My 8660 is actaully pretty quiet, at least when compared to my old Acer. My Zalman cooler makes more noise than my Sager. :)

If your using it on the bed just put a book or two under it....like im doing right now :)

,..Never put any laptop on a bed, even this one on silent mode. It blocks the intake and retains heat which heats up the laptop even more.
