I'm trying to connect my laptop to a non-HD TV (Toshiba 27AF45).

I have a Sager NP8662 with the GeForce GTX260m. It only has DVI out or HDMI out, so I purchased a DVI to VGA adaptor and a VGA to S-Video adaptor.

I cant figure how to make it work. I tried to play around with a bunch of options in the Nvidia control panel but none will give me a stable image. I think my TV will only accept 640x480i signal so I tried to force a custom mode in the Nvidia software but no success.

Anyone could share his experience solving this problem? Thanks! - Mat

No one seems interested by this problem but I'll post my solution for the record.

I first tried this adaptor but it didnt work because the latest NVidia GPUs do not support TV out through VGA port:

I finally purchased a DVI to VGA adaptor and a video converter box from monoprice.com and was able to hookup my laptop to my TV using a standard RCA cable.
