    Hi,
I received the latest firmware files from Sager, which consists of two parts: EC and the BIOS itself. I was instructed to flash the EC first, so I have followed the steps up to the actual flashing part. Now I have encountered a problem: after clicking 'Flash', the ECWinFlash utility is stuck at "Program Function Start" status, and the system is completely unresponsive. It has been frozen for an hour, and even the power button does not work.
What am I meant to do now? Any help would be much appreciated!

Is there an emergency shutdown method at all, seeing how the battery is non-removable? At the moment, I have the machine unplugged so that I can try restarting it once it runs out of juice. It's an agonising wait - I can only hope that no data was actually committed to the EEPROM, so with any luck, the machine will boot back up without any issues...

Keeping the power button pressed for 5-10 seconds will auto-shutdown any system; it's an embedded, ancient safety feature. From the description it hasn't begun flashing yet, so the system should be unchanged.
