Hi everyone, I was one of the earlier owners of this amazing laptop in October, and today when I went to check on updates on our support page, I found that my BIOS was old.

I am no computer genius here, but I can find my way around an operating system and hardware quite well.

Could anyone help me with the install of the new Dec 10, 2009 BIOS install for the Sager NP8690?

    Thanks,

    -Laughs

    1. download the zip file.
    2. extract it.
    3. burn 869bv104s.iso to a cd. win 7 can do this automatically, for vista and XP you have to get an iso burning program. i used to use iso recorder for vista - http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    4. restart your computer with cd in drive. either go in to bios and change boot order to boot off cd first or hit F8 when your computer is starting and select cd drive.
    5. press any key to boot off cd.
    6. it will go in to bios update program. follow prompts to update. mine took about 1 min. it will show progress as what it is writing, but will go over the same things several times.
    7. when it is done it will say something like remove cd and press key to reboot, however mine just shut down. i turned it back on and pressed F2 to go back in to the bios. on the first page you can verify what version you have. it should say BIOS Revision: 1.01.04S LS3.
