Yes, I'm asking if I should remove it or not. I know there have been a billion threads about it, but I'm really not sure. I've spent many hours applying and reapplying thermal paste. So far my results are fairly unremarkable, but a big step up from my stock paste setup. So with my i7 620m I maxed out at about 79 degrees on the Crysis CPU benchmark running 20 reps I'm guessing it could reach up to 82 degrees given more time. My GPU hit 83, and it wasn't going to budge, it was generally going between 81 - 82. The highest I can imagine it getting would be 85. So should I remove the sticker? My current temperature shouldn't change my performance, but I've heard that there is no reason for keeping it.

Based on all your recent posts I have to say take a deep breath, relax and settle down.

Remove the disc, most people have and it seems to help.

One thing you should do is STOP removing and re-applying the paste, you risk way more in possible damage by continually removing and replacing your heatsinks. Your temps seem pretty normal. So be happy.

Yeah, probably I shouldn't do that much more. I'm just concerned because my temperatures for the CPU are a good deal higher than my brothers and I don't know why. It may be my heatsink, it came pretty scratched.

Wow, I removed the sticker and my CPU temps dropped a ton. After running the Crysis CPU benchmark twice for about 30 minutes each round (max settings 1080 by 1920) and a 30 second break between runs, I maxed out at 66 degrees C for the CPU, and 83 for my GPU. I'm guessing given a little more time the CPU could hit something more like 68 or 70, but that doesn't concern me. The GPU doesn't look like it will budge. I did read on a different forum that after 72 degrees the CPU stops doing something with Turbo Boost. I'm not sure exactly what, but is this true and would it affect performance in games? I'm not sure anyone is still reading my threads, but I'd really appreciate an answer.

It's covers/blocks the CPU fan from the inside. Head on the the Sager NP8690/Cleve W860 and read through - there's a lot of discussion on the sticker there for your reading pleasure.
