....and I'm still pushing it higher without the laptop blowing up on me first. Temperature runs a cool 70c max and so far stabilize playing COD4 for 1 hour.
So far the gpu look to overclock good unlike the one in my old Sager NP8660. This is for benchmarking puposes only so I do not intend on keeping these clocks to run all-time.

Current New Score
The memory overclock is insane and hasn't let up. I haven't seen anything clocked this high since my desktop gpu. Amazingly continue to run cool and stable. Everything is on stock voltage.

Memory at 1100MHz? Brace for impact!
-
Lets see a M15x do that!
+Rep if you reach 14K SUADE.
I have a feeling Soviet's benchmarking side will be itching to get out ;p. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
I've already broken 14k on my M570TU months ago before I retired. I am no longer a benchmarker, rather a tempmarker now. I miss my M570TU.

Wow, nice
I only got a 720qm, and I'm not planning to overclock at first. I assume around 12k score, that right? -
I'm more into tempmarking myself. My friends at school focus on benching their AW and Asus laptops. I have the coolest running laptop in school. They still cant beat my 52*C at load for CPU temps and 35*C at idle. I know your M570 beats my temps, then again you have lower ambients (Mine is 27-32*C). My HDD is at a "frosty" 37*C.

that's just a crazy memory OC!!
get the newer GPU-Z to see al the details
btw is that on default voltage? -
-
ChinNoobonic i envy you, the temps and the clicking sound of my 8662 are the only two defects in this laptop.

Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
$5 says he frys at 1200MHz.
-
-
Fry it or not but for a laptop gpu to exceed to those clocks is an amazing feat. Soviet, you can keep that $5 because I think I am going to stop here
.
I would like to have my laptop last more than a week but man I am itching to go further. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
You've already overclocked pasted the desktop G92b, haha. I think 1100MHz is as far as you go. Hell, 1000MHz is as far as I would go. Very nice numbers, SUADE8880. Just focus on pushing your core/shader.
Also, if you do happen to remove your GPU heatsink the next time, can you write down the numbers and letters you see on the top of the memory chips please? -
For sure I will get you the info. on top of memory chips the next time I pull the heatsink apart. If it wasn't a nice job done by the vendor keeping it cool I would have already pulled the thing apart to put new paste on.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Yes, 1150MHz, my mistake.
Thanks for the favor, SUADE8800. -
Still, that's 150 mhz over manufacturer specifications.... you may not notice the damage immediately but I would not be surprised if in one month you have to send the laptop back in for repairs.
-
Sorry if I missed this but the NP8690 cannot be OC'ed in the bios but the NP8760 can? Is that a correct statement?
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Yes, that statement is correct, Mandumb. The W870CU has the option to unlock up to 4x in BIOS for the 920XM while the W860CU can't.
-
Thanks my commie friend.
-
LOL...Mandrake
Has anyone picked up how the CPU shows up as i5 lol? I suppose its just a down-clocked lynnfield i7 with different socket afterall.
Edit: holy smoke... 1150?!? -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
The architecture of the Clarksfield i7's are indeed very similar to the Lynnfield i7's.
-
Holy Smoke is right... no pun there...

Nice job Suade! Just order a backup 280 and go for broke (or broken..).
-
Are you sure overclocking without overvolting can really damage your chip ? =/
(I mean if you keep your component cool too).
I have always ran o/c'ed CPU/GPU on desktop and never had a single problem, as I didn't play with overvolting too much
(and I'll never o/v anything in a notebook). -
). I am very anxious now to pull the gpu apart to give Soviet Sunrise the information on the memory chips he had asked for and maybe he can give us some daylight as to why this particular chip can be clocked so high. Nevertheless, the gpu on this thing is one heck of an overclocker!
-
Beat my best score, but that is to be expected with an absurdly high memory clock! Good job, but I'd be wary going higher than 1050-1100.
-
-
The only way to know is to open up your laptop. So come on... you know what needs to be done -
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
I doubt it, SUADE8880. Clevo is probably using the same MXM 3.0b cards from the M980NU and D900F, which have 1000MHz rated Samsung chips. Even my M570TU uses the same chips.
-
Just go ahead and set it at 738/1638/1100. Let's see what happens.
For the Greater Good. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
9800 GTX+ clocks or bust, haha.
-
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
How about something more realistic? 675/1688/1100, 9800 GTX clocks. You can even keep the memory at 1000MHz if you want.
-
Soviet, 665 core clock is about the highest this chip go to stay stable even when lowering the memory clock.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Did you raise the voltage to 1.03v?
-
No, I like to keep it running cool without generating more heat.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
You wussy, haha. You can easily hit 9800 GTX clocks then.
-
-
-
Quit trying to make Suade blow out his laptop already.. At least wait till he's had it a couple weeks before talking him into doing it..
-
What, just after the 'no questions asked' return date.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Seeing that SUADE8880 can take his GTX 280M to that high of a clockset on factory voltage is making me plan my primary clocks for my GPU. 680/1700/1000 is looking to be very feasible now.
-
Ah....seeing Soviet's overclocking side is starting to come out. Move over people!
-
Quick question, what software is being used to OC the CPU?
What software for the GPU? (or Bios edit? In that case what program did you use to edit the GPU Bios?)
Thanks.
