NP8690
Im getting one!
-
Hate to burst your bubble, but that is old news around here.
The biggest issue people have with the 470 is the stupid pricing on NVidia's part. -
In the NP8690? No. There arent even benchmarks on notebookcheck for the GTX 470M. You may be thinking of Sager 17 notebooks and the GTX 480M(?)
Aside from Eurocom, there isnt another notebook carrying the GTX 470M that Im aware of (and Ive been watching like a hawk
You wont find a post here, or on any other forum, of a 15 running the GTX 470M today, let alone a Sager; thats why Im getting one now! -
Price is ridiculous. I'm done trolling the 470M though.
Enjoy your machine. -
i give you an advice: get 460 instead of this ridiculous and wait for Ati new cards to come out , 395 more just for a few frames?
i hate to say this , there is another topic like this created 2 days ago , pls check again . Eurocom price is too good to be true, check xoticpc pls -
It was announced yesterday for both the 8760 and the 8690. Around here yesterday is old news.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/6815472-post4424.html
We all know there are no benchmarks because these won't be shipping till the end of this month at the earliest.
You totally did not get my post. -
Ah, xoticpc.com, TY! never heard of them, but really cool! Thanks guys. I think you’re pushing your ego with yesterday (actually 26 hours ago) being "old" news, but maybe i'm the only one who feels that way
And i dont see any new about Sager.com releasing this today.
I'll let you know how the actual Sager version turns out if that’s ok. Ran into a new game, FFXIV, that requires one hella system to run *at what a notebook PC enthusiast considers* at reasonable frame rates; not doing 17" and everything else has failed
see ya around and thanks for the links! -
Went for everything but the SSD and BLU-RAY (not impressed with m15x + blu-ray). Sager billing is odd,,, says the order went through but i dont see how. They dont take PayPal??

hmm, are you living in de states?
You could try Babyhemi (Member On Notebookreview Forum) for sager notebooks too as he Provides regular Emails on what new and Order stats are and answers to most of your emails with fast replies.
His company Webpage is Sager, Clevo, Gaming Laptops, Custom Notebooks, Custom Laptops, Intel Core i7 Extreme 975 -
Nope, never heard of them, if you google “Sager Notebook” they are not until page two. It was during my graduates degree in Information Technology at Boston University I learned that google page 2 is advertising suicide (too many case studies confirming... e.g. xoticpc would not have made this sale w/o you guys)
But guess what, they accept PayPal and they just got my money! Thanks guys, this really shows that forums of this nature can really help some people out.
Not only does Xoticpc accept PayPal, but the order was $250 cheaper than building with Sager.com and I got more; well done!

lol you've got the hell of a real gaming laptop here..i wish i could have money to go with 470m d. I7 940xm is completely out of my range lol
-
Anyone know if either the 460M or 470M in the 8690 support Optimus if combined with an i5-cpu?
TYIA! -
Nope 10 char
-
PM55 chipset doesn't support the IGP.
-
How much of a performance gain do we get over a 460M GTX?
looks like Nvidia is starting to release the good stuff, little pricey but good. -
I think the GTX 470M performance is unknown at this time. Ive been looking everywhere and I cannot find any straight benchmarks. This will have me sitting on the edge of my seat until this box is delivered!
The best I can do is speculate. I would like to expect the 470M will have the performance characteristics right in between the 460 & 480M. If you trust notebookcheck, they show these average 3dmark06 scores
GTX 460M: 12267
GTX 480M: 15394
The GTX 480M has a 3127 point advantage in this benchmark (25%). In a perfect world, if we cut this in half we should know what to expect out of the GTX 470M.
I ordered with overnight shipping; I dont think theres a faster way to get the true results! -
Congrats on your new laptop
You better post some benchmarks -
If the 470M proves to be 10% than the 460M, will you feel that was +$395 well spent?
-
-
Yeah they are expensive but realistically unless you upgrade laptops like every 6 months I think the price is easier to swallow.
A good high performance GPU should last at least 2-3 years that is without any unexpected problems hardware wise and still game very well. -
-
Very nice!
When are you getting your new laptop? It's specs are amazing! -
@ IKAS V: Thanks! Will start shipping only early Nov, and will reach me in about a week
will have to wait till babyhemi's Email me about the current stats. -
good plz bench mafia 2 metro 2003 crysis warhead and avp
-
Actually you should look at their detailed charts.
It looks like a 460M with a 720/740qm scores around 7400/7500 points in vantage or 12200 points in 3dmark06
A 480M with the same CPU scores around 13500-14000 in 3dmark06 (let's say 14000) and 8500 in 3dmark vantage.
The M5870 around 8000 in vantage and 12800 in 3dmark06.
So you do the maths. -
I’ll definitely post benchmarks. I also have this “horrible” habit of OC notebooks to the point of destruction
I’m having a hard time with the existing benchmarks on the 480M; they’re inconclusive and there does not appear to be enough data out there. For example, browse futuremarks ORB and you’ll find no posted 3dmark06 or Vantage results on the 480M (plenty on the 460). I also find it hard to believe Nvidia will stay in business if their top end GPU only outperforms the 460M by ~10% ><
I guess only time will tell!
I was seriously considering an NP7280 similar to Sacred Dreams’s, but the thought of a desktop processor and SLI GTX 480M had me drooling, I though the laptop might get a bit messy(actually I can’t do 17”… I’ve tried)
-
well i think gtx 470m might be faster than 480m as prices suggest
-
Please run the free Lost Planet 2 Benchmark.
I will eat my keyboard, if the 470M is faster. -
I'll eat a 470M if it's faster.
Actually I'll eat two if they aren't as ridiculously priced. -
-
Nah, I'll chase it with a cup of broken glass.
-
Definitely a Merlot.
-
Or just do it the real way with another keyboard.
-
Well according to NotebookCheck the gtx 470m is 10th on the list and their stuff seems to have been accurate so far although they don't have the official benchmarks yet...
-
When is the GTX 470m schedule to ship to resellers and available to consumers? Any plausible idea how much less "back-up" battery power we'll see with this graphic card?
Being that the G53s are limited at the moment and the waiting list in some cases is up to 2 to 3 months, the Sager is my top contender at the moment.
Lastly, I've never owned a laptop, so what's the difference or the big issue with the Sager's keyboard layout? -

^^^^The 470M's in the NP8690 and the NP8760 models could start shipping as early as tonight or Monday depending on how the factory testing goes...

thanks Lr for excellent service , pls provide us some bendmarks soon

IF this card performs on par or better than a 5870m then that would be good news. And IF an i7 SB processor uses this card alongside Optimus then I would be sold in an instant.
-
Come on, resellers. Give us some benchmarks.
-

placed my order on 10/22/2010 (xoticpc) and its still "pending parts arrival."
I sent a follow up today... -
