    Hey guys,
I got this problem and I expect you to help me.
My new NP8690 (1920x1080, 4GB DDR3, ATI 5870, 500GB, i7 620M 2.7~3.0), is turning off without my request when I'm playing games like CoD6... This only happens when the laptop is on my lap.
What can I do to make it stop?

Laptop cooler? Although my GPU temps are about 88C under load on flat surfaces, and I don't get shutdowns.

Buy a laptop cooler then sit that on your lap with the laptop on it. Or just get a lapdesk/laptray (tray with cushion under it) thereby creating a flat surface on your lap.

a lapdesk would be your best bet as theriko suggested. i myself have difficulty placing my cooler on my lap without touching the fans.

trvelbug - But then you bought a lapdesk? Does what happens to me happen to you?
