    Greetings!

I have owned a NP8760 for about 3 years with no issues, but recently my primary SSD died and I lost everything on that drive - including the OS.

I bought a new SSD and installed it, reinstalled Windows 7 from the recovery disk that came with my computer, and reinstalled all the drivers from the recovery disk that came with my computer.

I've never done anything like this, never installed a drive, never installed/reinstalled windows etc.

I have a few questions. First, it no longer says Sager when booting up it shows some text with some system info. I dont mind this one bit, unless it means I did something wrong.

All drivers seemed to install just fine, except it is the original default ATI Radeon 5780 driver from 2009. I can't seem to update it to the most recentl driver. Apparently this is because there is a newer BIOS update I need before I can update my video driver?

I never did a BIOS update before the hard drive failed, do I need to do that now?

I read all the threads I could find about updating BIOS and to be honest, I'm terrified of it.

Thanks for any info!! If I missed something important, I'll glady take any advice/criticism.

    :)

Contact Sager about getting a bios update, they have an automated one that you just run from a burnt cd. Everything your seeing is normal besides the graphics driver. Have you gone to amd and downloaded the latest driver? or where are you getting it?

Thanks for the info! Should I contact Sager directly or the reseller I bought from (Xotic) for the BIOS? Also, do I need to update the BIOS or should I leave it as it is?

The driver I downloaded from the link from the Xotic website (I think it links directly to the Sager website) and I got the most recent driver - and it installs and seems to run smooth - but it looks like it's a 2009 driver.

I don't seem to have any issues at the moment. Everything seems to be running fine.
