    Hi.

I've had my NP8954 for about 10 months now, everything is fine so far, except that now, when I update NVIDIA driver through either Geforce Experience or downloading the driver manually, I would get a BSOD with DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. I've been updating my driver fine up until about 3 months ago when it just suddenly started crashing.

Before the BSOD happens Windows 10 (Pro) behaves weirdly. Some stuff stop rendering and Task Manager opens but is just blank, the Start Menu opens but clicking stuff doesn't do anything and none of the power options works. Some stuff like the default video player can open but just shows a black screen. Some apps can't close and become unresponsive. It's really weird, like Windows just gets a stroke and slowly dies until the BSOD hits. I reverted to the driver on Sager's website and everything is back to normal. I tried DDU, reinstalling Windows but nothing worked. I just opted to not update the driver because I never really saw a difference, but now I need to update since I want to get the new Rift S (p.s can anyone tell me how well NP8954 will work with Rift S?) and I need the new driver since it has support for the Rift S, but again, Windows gets a stroke and then BSOD. This is super confusing since it can happen randomly anytime, sometimes it happened after 1 min of starting Windows, and sometimes it doesn't happen for over an hour (but then does anyway), and that time was when I was only playing Overwatch and didn't do anything else. When it happens I notice the fans become quieter, but I can't tell because the control center dies, too. I know I should use Sager's official driver but it's really outdated and I was updating drivers just fine for quite a while (I'm really dumb because I can't remember the last driver that worked fine). It's frustrating to watch everything slowly stop responding and then die in a BSOD, I either have to wait for it or hold the power button to turn the laptop off since the power options stop working.

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Anyone with an NP8954 able to update the driver?

I would report it to Nvidia, roll back and test again next release.

If it continues past the next release speak to support.

Well yeah, like I said, the thing is this has happened literally every single time for every new release in the past few months now. I will try reporting it to NVIDIA, but I don't really know how to describe the issue. I want to know if updating the driver from NVIDIA instead of Sager's official driver is fine though, specifically for NP8954.

It's how you are supposed to do it, you're not using any driver cleaner tools right?
