Hello there, good people of Notebook Review. I made this account specifically to try and address a concern I have with my otherwise great NP9130 that I purchased a few years back from XoticPC.

Rarely, while playing a game, the computer will just shut off. No warnings, beeps or messages about temperatures. Curiously, after it shuts off, I noticed that the two LED's that usually indicate AC power were both unlit after shut down and stayed that way until I unplugged the AC adapter from the back of the computer and replugged it.

Is my AC adapter bad? Could I be overdrawing it's 120W (I believe) capacity and it's tripping to prevent damage? If this is the case, is it safe to purchase the 180W AC adapter from the NP9150 to give myself some headroom?

    NVIDIA GTX 670MX 3GB

i dont have a clear answer for you but what i notice with my p377sma:
with 1 gtx980m, if i unplug it while playing, just got a drop of fps..normal. BUT with 2 980m, if i unplug while gaming, laptop shutdown. i guess your ac adapter or laptop have a problem to keep charging. i had an alienware 17 r3 240W AC, 2 AC broke. i think your ac is not 'healthy'. I
f this happen only while gaming or long benchmark, then i guess its ac problem.
For any laptop usually, you can buy bigger AC for more watt because laptops/desktop use more watt if they only need them... so its better ;)

Yes there is a chance that your AC is the issue. And yes you can try the 180W AC without any worries.
